About the Founder
Meet Jess Vellella, certified professional dog trainer and owner of Adventure Bound Canines. An outdoor enthusiast herself, she understands the importance of getting outside and connecting with nature. She also saw a need for certified, positive reinforcement trainers in the Roanoke area. Because dog’s and their guardians deserve elevated care and training options, the idea for Adventure Bound Canines was born.
A Roanoke area transplant herself, Jess grew up in the PNW. After ending her 10 year career in Early Childhood Education, she began her dog training journey in 2019. She graduated Whole Dog Academy in Portland, OR in 2020 and became a board certified professional trainer and has been working professionally with dogs since. She now lives in Salem, Virginia with her husband, two dogs and three cats.
